Dining in and around Times Square

There are restaurants and food options abound in Times Square. The area itself is full of recognizable nationwide chains such as McDonald's, Applebee's, and Red Lobster, but be sure to walk away from the tourist hotspots to find more unique dining options, such as ethnic cafes, pizzerias, gourmet restaurants, and more.

Times Square walking tours

Sign up for a Times Square walking tour to learn more about the area and get an insider glimpse at its theatres and historic buildings. Choose from the Times Square History Tour or the Broadway Walking Tour; both are available at the Times Square Visitor Center for $25 per person.

  • Is there a visitor's center?

Yes, the Times Square Visitor Center and Museum is located at the Embassy Theater, open 8AM-8PM, seven days a week. The entrance is on 7th Avenue, between 46th and 47th streets.
  • Is Times Square family-friendly?

Yes. In fact, many locals consider Times Square the "Disneyland" of New York City, thanks to its gentrified entertainment offerings and palatable chain restaurants. But be aware that crowds and traffic may frighten younger children who aren't used to such things. Also, as in any other major city, it's always smart to take a few extra precautions when you're out late at night.
